GETTING TO THE GROUND

A 10-15 min walk from the city center. Metro stops 'Stadium of Light' or 'St Peter's' are within 10 minutes. Park & Ride runs from Enterprise Park.

Warning: Roads around the stadium close one hour before kick-off. Avoid driving to the immediate perimeter; use city center parking instead.

Away fans are located in the upper tier of the North Stand (Turnstiles 69-74). Views are excellent, but you are very high up.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • Bags larger than A4
  • Professional cameras
  • Pyrotechnics
  • Vapes
  • Coins

CRITICAL

CASHLESS VENUE. Coins are not permitted inside and will be collected for charity at the gate. Rigorous searches at the away turnstiles.

Exit routes & evacuation

Designated routes lead to the St Peter's Metro station or the Park & Ride bus collection point.

Exit via the main wide stairwells of the North Stand directly onto the secure stadium perimeter for dispersal.

TACTICAL INTEL

GATHERING POINT

CENTRAL MEETING POINT

Sunderland Railway Station

The primary arrival point for fans traveling from Newcastle or London. Most fans meet here before the 15-minute walk across the Wearmouth Bridge.

POLICE PROFILE

EXPERIENCED

Northumbria Police are very experienced with large crowds. For the 'Tyne-Wear Derby', expect massive security cordons and escorted travel.
